Description
Black Straight 20-Round PMAG
This black straight 20-round PMAG is an original straight-profile Magpul polymer magazine for AR-15, M16, M4, and compatible STANAG-pattern rifles chambered in 5.56x45mm / .223 Remington. The straight 20-round body distinguishes it from later curved 20-round PMAG designs and makes it a desirable collectible Magpul magazine variant.
Black Straight 20-Round PMAG
This example is molded in black polymer and marked 5.56×45 on the body. The original straight 20-round PMAG format has a lower-profile body than standard 30-round magazines and is especially useful for bench shooting, prone shooting, bipod use, or compact storage.
Construction / Configuration / Pattern
The magazine has a reinforced polymer body, molded exterior grip panels, anti-tilt follower, removable floorplate, and standard AR/STANAG-pattern feed geometry. The straight-body profile is the key feature of this example, separating it from later-generation curved 20-round PMAGs.
The black polymer finish is the classic PMAG color and remains the most recognizable configuration for AR-15, M4, M16, and other compatible 5.56x45mm rifle platforms.
Historical Context / Pattern Development
Magpul PMAG magazines became one of the most widely used modern polymer magazine designs for AR-pattern rifles. Their lightweight construction, corrosion resistance, and durable feed-lip geometry helped make them popular with military, law enforcement, civilian, and competition shooters.
The original straight 20-round PMAG has become collectible because later production moved to a curved-body 20-round design. Collectors often seek the straight-profile version as an earlier Magpul pattern and as a distinctive variant within the PMAG line.
Condition
Good condition with light handling wear, minor surface marks, and normal evidence of use or storage. The black polymer body remains intact, with the feed lips, follower, and floorplate present. The original straight profile gives this magazine added collector interest over later curved-body examples.
