The Rhino 1 mount is one of the classic U.S. military-style night vision helmet mounts used with PVS-14 monocular systems. This example is the original fixed vertical height variant, distinguishing it from later adjustable-height Rhino-style mounts.
Construction / Configuration / Pattern
This assembly features aluminum construction with a black finish, flip-up helmet mount body, original PVS-14 J-arm, thumb wheel, locking lever, and click-style adjustment points. The mount is designed for use with compatible ACH helmet night vision shrouds and accepts a PVS-14 monocular through the included J-arm.
The fixed vertical height configuration is correct for the earlier Rhino 1 pattern. Adjustments are handled through the mount’s tilt and fore/aft style mechanism rather than the later vertical-height adjustment system found on newer mounts.

The Norotos Rhino mount became a widely recognized U.S. military night vision helmet mount during the GWOT era. Used with PVS-14 monocular night vision devices, the Rhino system allowed soldiers to attach, position, and flip up their night vision monocular while retaining a rugged helmet-mounted setup.
