Description
German Hitler Youth camp badge dating to 1936. The round aluminum badge features a field of pitched tents across the center. A large Hitlerjugend diamond emblem appears prominently in the foreground. The surrounding inscription reads “ZELTLAGER DER FRÄNK. H.J.”, identifying the piece with the tent camps of the Franconian Hitler Youth. The date “1936” appears above the camp scene. The badge shows age-related toning, scratches, small marks, and general surface wear. The reverse retains its horizontal pin and catch assembly. Please carefully review all photographs for the condition, markings, construction, and completeness of the badge.
The 1936 Fränkische HJ Zeltlager Badge relates to the organized summer tent camps operated by the Hitler Youth. Period sources describe these camps as an important part of the organization’s youth program. Participants took part in organized physical activities, instruction, and communal camp life. Period material from 1936 specifically documents promotion of the “Zeltlager der fränk. Hitlerjugend 1936.” Surviving collector records also document this exact aluminum badge as an HJ event badge. This example represents a youth organization camp badge rather than a military award or combat decoration.
