Description
An original WWII Imperial Japanese Type 14 Nambu pistol magazine, offered in very good collectible condition. This example retains approximately 85% or better of its original blued finish, with even wear consistent with period service rather than postwar handling.
The magazine is a complete assembly, correct for wartime Type 14 pistols, and features the proper aluminum baseplate, a detail associated with mid- to late-war production as Japan transitioned materials under wartime constraints. The aluminum base shows honest wear but remains structurally sound and firmly fitted.
The magazine body is stamped “582”, a factory or assembly number commonly encountered on original Japanese magazines, and additionally marked with a stamped “M”, consistent with known Japanese inspection or subcontractor markings from the period. Feed lips remain intact and well-defined, and the overall profile shows no evidence of postwar modification or reproduction traits.
Original Type 14 magazines are increasingly difficult to find in this level of condition, particularly with strong remaining blue, correct aluminum baseplate, and clear wartime markings. This example would be an excellent companion to an original Type 14 Nambu pistol or a strong standalone piece for a focused Imperial Japanese small-arms collection.
