Original German WWII Wehrmacht Iron Cross, 2nd Class, 1939, with Original Presentation Box

An original example of the German Wehrmacht Iron Cross 2nd Class, instituted in 1939. The decoration is of traditional construction, featuring a magnetic iron core finished in black, set within a silvered frame of non-ferrous metal. The obverse bears the central swastika with the reinstitution date “1939” to the lower arm, while the reverse displays the original institution date “1813” on the lower arm.
The award is complete with its original issue ribbon, correctly executed in black, white, and red.
Accompanying the medal is its original presentation box, constructed with a rigid core and finished in faux black leather. The interior features a white rayon lid liner with intact hinge cover and a fitted interior recess. The pushbutton clasp remains fully functional, closing securely.
A desirable and complete set, well suited for display or collection, and representative of one of the most iconic German combat awards of the Second World War.
