Offered here is an exceptionally rare WWII Imperial Japanese Mine type JE, preserved as a completely inert, non-functional historical artifact. According to Allied wartime intelligence documentation (OP-1507), the Small Type Mine, Model 1 was a compact hemispherical mine used extensively by Japanese naval forces for anti-landing craft and shoreline defensive roles. Very few examples survived the war, and even fewer exist today in stable, display-ready condition — making this an extraordinary addition to any ordnance collection.
This mine conforms to the documented specifications: an Hemispherical, 20″.5 in diameter and 10″.5 hight , lightweight construction of approximately 106-110lbs, and designed to contain a 44-46lbs internal charge of type 98 when live.
