Description
Authentic WWI British Mk VI Webley Revolver Holster – W.L. Martin Maker with Original Oiler
This authentic World War I British Mk VI Webley revolver holster is a fine example of period craftsmanship, constructed from durable brown leather that remains supple and well-preserved despite its age. Designed to carry the standard-issue .455 caliber Webley Mk VI revolver, this holster was part of the personal sidearm equipment issued to British and Commonwealth officers during the Great War.
The body of the holster is maker-marked “W. L. Martin,” identifying it as the work of a verified wartime contractor who supplied quality leather goods to the British military. The design features a full flap closure with an integrated retaining strap and sturdy belt loop for attachment to the Sam Browne belt, all intact and in excellent working condition. The stitching remains strong, and the leather shows only light wear and minor service patina, testifying to its authenticity and care over the years.
Included is the original brass oiler, which fits neatly in its internal compartment beneath the flap. The oiler is British crown over “M9” acceptance stamped and maker marked “V.S.M.” (Vickers, Sons & Maxim)—a historically significant manufacturer known for producing weapons, parts, and accessories for the British armed forces during WWI.
This is an outstanding and complete set, representing the high standards of British military equipment from the early 20th century. Perfect for collectors of WWI British militaria, Webley revolvers, or Great War officer accoutrements, this holster and oiler combination stands as a tangible link to the soldiers who carried them over a century ago.
