Description
This is an original WWII German Reichsbahn Officer’s belt buckle (Bahnschutzpolizei / Reichsbahn Official). What makes this example particularly unique is that it remains in its unfinished form, still attached to the stamped aluminum plate, not yet cut or shaped from the production matrix. The front displays the detailed Reichsbahn eagle and wreath motif with the swastika and railway wheel at the base, crisply struck into the plate.
Such unfinished examples are rare survivors of the wartime production process, providing direct insight into how these buckles were manufactured before being trimmed, bent, and fitted with their prongs and catch. This makes it not only a collectible Reichsbahn buckle but also a fascinating piece of WWII German militaria production history.
