Description
Original Training MKI fragmentation hand grenade – F marked
This is an example of a MKI training grenade that has had a MKII fuze fitted to it. The cast iron body shows signs of use associated with items intended to train new soldiers. MKI grenades are highly sought after becuase of their limited availability and ties to both the first and second world wars. The standing order was to use the remaining stock of MKI’s available till no stock remained following the adoption of the mkII grenade. This inturn means the only surviving examples are few and far between.
Unloaded or dummy grenades, artillery shell casings, and similar devices, which are cut or drilled in an BATF-approved manner so that they cannot be used as ammunition components for destructive devices, are not considered NFA weapons.
