Description
Original German WWII Hirschfänger Forestry Dress Dagger – Bone Handle, Blued and Etched Blade, Eagle’s Head Pommel
This is an original German WWII Hirschfänger forestry dress dagger. It features a bone grip secured with rivets and an eagle’s head pommel. The guard is brass with period decorative detail.
The dagger retains its blued and etched blade, displaying motifs typical of forestry dress sidearms of the era. The blade shows age and surface wear, with the etching still visible beneath the dark finish. The hilt, guard, and pommel are intact, and the construction is consistent with WWII-era manufacture.
This Hirschfänger is a representative example of a German forestry officer’s dress sidearm and is well suited for collectors of edged weapons and WWII militaria.
