Original WWII German K98 Bayonet by Carl Eickhorn with Period-Correct Leather Frog

This is an authentic WWII German K98 bayonet, manufactured by the renowned Solingen firm Carl Eickhorn, accompanied by a period-correct leather frog. The K98 bayonet was standard issue for German infantry throughout the Second World War, designed for use with the Karabiner 98k rifle.

This example bears the correct Carl Eickhorn manufacturer’s code and wartime markings on the blade ricasso. The blued blade retains its original wartime finish with signs of honest service wear, while the steel pommel and crossguard display proper Waffenamt inspection stamps. The grooved Bakelite grips are intact, securely riveted, and free from cracks or repairs.

The included black leather frog is period correct to WWII German service, though it is not confirmed to be original to this specific scabbard. It retains the correct stitching pattern, riveted reinforcement, and intact belt loops for mounting on a German soldier’s equipment belt.

Carl Eickhorn of Solingen was one of Germany’s premier edged weapon manufacturers, producing not only bayonets but also ceremonial swords and daggers. Their wartime K98 bayonets are prized by collectors for their quality and historical association with front-line German troops from France to the Eastern Front.

Original WWII K98 bayonets with intact frogs in solid condition are increasingly hard to find. This example offers an excellent opportunity to acquire a well-preserved piece of German WWII military history.
