Description
Up for sale is an original Swiss M1957 bayonet manufactured by Victoria Schwyz, complete with its original steel scabbard. Designed for the Stgw 57 (SIG 510) battle rifle, this bayonet is a fine example of Cold War-era Swiss engineering—combining utility, durability, and clean design.
The blade is parkerized and retains a sharp profile with no signs of misuse or post-service sharpening. The Swiss M1957 bayonet features a sturdy straight blade with a spear point, compatible with the rifle’s lug-mounted bayonet system. The ricasso is clearly marked “Victoria Schwyz,” one of the premier Swiss manufacturers contracted for military production during the postwar period. The edge is crisp, and the spine retains the factory finish, showing only light signs of handling.
The black ribbed synthetic grips are intact with no cracks, and the release button functions smoothly. The steel scabbard retains most of its original finish, with only minor wear from service and storage. A period-correct frog stud is still attached and undamaged. These bayonets were standard issue in the 1960s and remained in use for decades, making them highly collectible for both military historians and SIG rifle enthusiasts.
This is a must-have item for collectors of Swiss militaria, Cold War-era edged weapons, or anyone completing a Stgw 57 display. The Victoria Schwyz marking adds collector appeal and rarity to an already iconic piece.
