Description
WW2 M1911A1 Brown Leather Flap Holster BOYT 1942 Marked
This is an original WWII-issue M1916 leather holster made by Boyt Harness Company in 1942, designed for use with the Colt M1911A1 .45 ACP pistol. Produced early in America’s wartime mobilization, this holster represents the classic U.S. military sidearm rig carried by soldiers, Marines, and airmen across every major theater of the war.
Crafted from russet brown leather, this holster features the standard full-flap design with a brass stud closure, contoured body, and stitched toe plug. The flap is boldly marked with the “U.S.” oval cartouche, while the reverse bears a sharp “BOYT / 42” manufacturer’s stamp—marking it as one of the first large-scale wartime contracts issued to Boyt, whose products were highly regarded for quality and durability.
The leather remains strong and flexible with a warm, even patina from age and service. Stitching is tight throughout, with no rot or separation. The full belt loop is intact and unmodified, ready for use with any standard G.I. web belt. The closure functions securely, and the interior still holds the classic 1911 pistol profile.
1942-dated examples are desirable for pairing with early wartime 1911A1 pistols, including models by Colt, Remington Rand, and Union Switch & Signal. This holster is untouched and unaltered—an ideal display piece or functional complement to a period-correct rig.
Original, well-marked, and ready for the field or collection.
