Up for auction is a French Unique pistol chambered in 22LR. These cool little french pistols would make a great pistol for plinking and having fun at the range, action is nice and smooth and the trigger is nice and crisp when you get past the wall. Pistol comes as shown with one magazine and a leather holster. Date of manufacture is unknown.
Unique was a French arms brand . The factory was located in Hendaye in France . It was the commercial brand of the Manufacture d’armes des Pyrénées françaises founded in 1923 in Béhobie in the form of Uria & Arenas Frères by José Uria (1896–1973, originally from the Spanish Basque Country ). It only became MAPF in 1928 when it was established in Hendaye city. It remained in the family; Antone (1925-1987), José Marie (1924-1989), Josétcho, Jean-Pierre and Philippe Uria succeeded one another as CEO. Towards the end of its existence, for around ten years, the company experienced a difficult situation, due to the difficulty of the arms trade and the practice of sports shooting on the national territory. These difficulties will have consequences on the aging of the machine fleet. However, the excellence of the execution staff and their knowledge of these old machines still allowed the production of high precision cannons.
