This is an original WWII German Reichsbahn Bahnschutzpolizei (Railway Protection Police) official’s belt buckle. The Bahnschutzpolizei were tasked with protecting the German state railways, stations, and strategic rail lines, making their insignia and equipment distinct within the broader policing structure of the Third Reich.
The buckle is constructed of metal with a silver/aluminum finish, featuring the eagle and swastika insignia above a wreath, surrounded by the words “Bahnschutz”. These buckles were typically worn with brown leather belts by Reichsbahn security officials.
