Very Rare Joseph H. Mosser 1942 Production 1916 Pattern 1911 Holster

This is an original WWII-era 1916 pattern M1911 leather holster, produced in 1942 by Joseph H. Mosser Leather Co., one of the lesser-seen wartime contractors. Mosser holsters are considered quite rare compared to larger makers such as Boyt or Enger-Kress, making this piece especially desirable for advanced collectors of WWII U.S. militaria.

Constructed of high-quality brown leather, the holster follows the Model 1916 design, made specifically for the M1911 .45 ACP pistol. It features the classic “US” oval embossed on the flap, a brass closure stud, and riveted belt loop for secure attachment to standard U.S. Army web belts. The rear is clearly stamped with “Joseph H. Mosser 1942”, verifying its date of manufacture and authenticity.

Condition is very good, with supple leather and strong stitching, showing only normal service wear consistent with its age.

An excellent opportunity to acquire a scarce WWII-dated Mosser holster for any U.S. M1911 pistol or WWII field gear collection.
