Description

Up for sale is an original Swiss M1914 sawback bayonet, dated 1931 and marked with the HSt W stamp, indicating manufacture or inspection by the Swiss military’s War Material Administration. This version is presented “in the white,” retaining its original bright steel finish—an uncommon and desirable feature among Swiss edged weapons of the early 20th century.

Designed for use with the Schmidt-Rubin series rifles, including the K11 and M1911, the Swiss M1914 sawback bayonet features a long, straight blade with deep saw teeth along the spine. These teeth were intended for utility work, not combat, yet they give the bayonet an unmistakably aggressive look. The wood grips remain tight, with an attractive aged patina, and the crossguard is clearly marked with the Swiss cross and matching serial number. The HSt W 1931 stamp enhances the historical value, linking this piece to a precise moment in Swiss interwar military production.

Included is the original steel scabbard in excellent condition—no dents or corrosion—paired with a correct brown leather frog. The frog retains solid stitching, full function, and honest wear. Complete rigs like this are becoming increasingly difficult to find, especially with crisp markings and an unblued finish.

This is a must-have piece for collectors of Swiss military bayonets, Schmidt-Rubin accessories, or European interwar weaponry. Its unique visual appeal and full original configuration make it an ideal display item.
