Description
Surefire 6R Light
This Surefire 6R light is an early Laser Products marked tactical flashlight, complete and showing honest field use. It remains a strong period example of the large-bodied rechargeable fighting lights that helped define practical low-light equipment before later compact systems became standard.
Surefire 6R Light
The piece retains its correct Laser Products Sure Fire marked tailcap, which has been knurled, along with the momentary switch configuration. It is fitted with a Laser Products 6-volt R60 lamp with the green band. As a complete unit, it presents well and remains a notable early tactical light from the formative period of modern weapon-adjacent and field illumination equipment.
Construction / Configuration / Pattern
This light is built in the classic SureFire / Laser Products pattern with a full-size body and period lamp assembly. The tailcap is marked Laser Products Sure Fire and uses the momentary-style switch. The installed lamp is a Laser Products 6V R60 example with green band marking. In addition, this light can be paired with the Laser Products SureFire A14 R6 extension, allowing use with the specified rechargeable battery setup. That feature makes it particularly appealing to collectors interested in early SureFire system development and accessory compatibility.
Historical Context / Pattern Development
Early Laser Products and SureFire lights marked an important shift in tactical illumination. Larger rechargeable systems such as the 6R offered a more practical field-ready option than many earlier flashlight designs. As a result, lights of this type represent an important step in the development of viable modern tactical lighting equipment. For collectors of late Cold War and early tactical gear, the 6R stands as a recognizable piece from that transition period.
Condition
This example shows clear signs of field use, which is consistent with service or duty carry. Even so, the object as a whole remains in great condition. It appears complete, with the correct marked tailcap, momentary switch, and Laser Products R60 lamp in place. Wear is present from use, but the light remains solid, attractive, and well-preserved overall.
