Description
Offered here is an original 1939-dated German police holster for the Sauer & Sohn Model 38H pistol, manufactured by Robert Larsen of Berlin. Marked clearly with “Robert Larsen / Berlin / SW68 / 1939”, this holster also bears a sharp Waffenamt acceptance stamp, confirming it as a legitimate early-war police contract piece.
Crafted from durable brown leather, the holster follows the police pattern typical of the pre-war and early-war period: full flap with stud closure, internal spare magazine pouch, and a single wide belt loop on the reverse. The leather is supple but strong, with tight original stitching throughout. The flap strap and closure remain fully functional, and the internal pouch is clean and intact.
Of particular note is the “SW68” designation—indicating Berlin’s SW postal district—and the associated Wilhelmstraße No. 6 address, which was the known location of the Robert Larsen factory. This detail appears on a number of early holsters from this maker and offers a rare glimpse into production origins before numeric maker codes were adopted.
This holster was designed specifically for the .32 ACP Sauer 38H, a favored police sidearm due to its compact design, reliability, and advanced double-action trigger. With its early date, complete markings, and excellent condition, this piece is an outstanding example of pre-standardization German police field gear.
Original. Marked. Wartime-issued. No postwar alterations.
