Description

Available here is an authentic late-war German P.38 softshell holster, manufactured in 1944 by Moritz Stecher Lederwerk of Freiburg. This simplified pattern was introduced during the final years of World War II to reduce material and labor costs while maintaining battlefield functionality.

Constructed from brown leather—typical of late-war production—the holster retains its distinctive softshell profile, internal spare magazine pouch, and full rear belt loops. The stitching remains strong throughout, and the leather is supple but firm, showing minor age-appropriate wear. The flap and securing strap are both intact and fully functional.

This type of WWII P.38 softshell holster was issued primarily to Heer and Waffen-SS units during the final phase of the war. Its simplified construction and unlined interior reflect the logistical pressures of 1944, yet it still performed reliably in combat across collapsing fronts.

For collectors of late-war German military gear, this holster represents a key transition in production philosophy—one that mirrored Germany’s increasingly desperate wartime circumstances. It pairs beautifully with 1944-dated P.38 pistols, particularly those from Mauser or Spreewerk.

No postwar marks. No reproductions. 100% original wartime manufacture.
