Original Vintage Colt AR-15 Aluminum Magazine – Early Commercial Pattern
This is an original vintage Colt AR-15 aluminum magazine, representing an early commercial-production Colt magazine. It features the original-style metal follower, correct for early Colt manufacture prior to the later adoption of plastic followers. The magazine is fitted with a Colt commercial–stamped AR-15 floorplate.
One side of the magazine was painted white and orange, likely for inventory control, range identification, or training use. The paint has largely worn away from the high points, remaining visible primarily within the recessed areas of the sidewall ribs, which is consistent with long-term handling and use.
These early Colt commercial magazines are increasingly scarce and are highly sought after by collectors building retro AR-15 rifles, early Colt display pieces, or historically correct civilian AR configurations.
