Description
This is an original German WWII SS Enlisted Man’s / NCO steel waist belt buckle, finished in field-grey/green paint typical of wartime issue. The front displays the iconic SS motto “Meine Ehre heißt Treue” (“My Honor is Loyalty”) around the central SS runes.
This example is unmarked, which was not uncommon during the war, as several manufacturers supplied buckles without maker codes. The steel construction with painted finish was a later-war adaptation, replacing earlier nickel and aluminum types, to save on strategic materials and streamline production.
