Description
Original German Pre-WWII P.08 Luger Black Leather Hardshell Holster with Luger Magazine – E. G. Leuner 1938
This original German P.08 Luger hardshell holster is an outstanding pre-WWII example, manufactured in 1938 by E. G. Leuner GmbH, one of the principal leather goods suppliers to the German military during the late 1930s and early war period. Constructed from high-quality black leather, the holster retains its original stitching, shape, and finish, showing expected wear consistent with careful use and storage.
The interior features the compartment for the take-down tool and a spare magazine pouch, which still contains an original Luger magazine—a desirable pairing for collectors. The reverse of the holster is clearly maker-marked “E. G. Leuner, 1938” and bears a Waffenamt acceptance stamp, verifying it as an officially inspected and accepted German military issue. The closure strap, buckle, and belt loops remain intact and functional, further attesting to the holster’s excellent preservation.
This 1938-dated example represents a transitional production to the later standardization of black-dyed holsters adopted as WWII intensified. The high-quality leatherwork, precision stitching, and clear markings make this a superb collector-grade piece for anyone interested in German small arms equipment, Wehrmacht sidearms, or pre-war Luger accessories.
A complete, well-marked, and fully original example of a pre-WWII P.08 holster and magazine set, rarely encountered in this condition.
