Description
Luger P.08 Magazine with Aluminum Baseplate – Haenel-Schmeisser Production
This is an original Luger P.08 pistol magazine featuring the desirable aluminum baseplate, produced by C.G. Haenel / Schmeisser, one of the principal and most respected wartime manufacturers of Luger magazines. Haenel-Schmeisser production is well documented and highly sought after by collectors due to its consistent quality and historical association with early and mid-period Luger contracts.
The magazine body is of correct blued steel construction with clean, even finish and sharp edges, showing only light, honest wear consistent with careful use and age. The aluminum baseplate is properly fitted and displays correct machining characteristics for Haenel production, with no cracks, chips, or distortions.
Feed lips remain straight and intact, and the magazine presents as fully serviceable and structurally sound. Overall condition is very good, making it suitable both as a collector piece and as a correct accessory for a period Luger display or restoration.
Original, unaltered P.08 magazines with aluminum baseplates are increasingly difficult to source, especially examples from known manufacturers such as Haenel-Schmeisser that have not been refinished or mismatched. This magazine represents a strong, original example of a key Luger accessory and is an excellent addition for collectors of German sidearms, Luger pistols, or Third Reich–era ordnance accessories.
