Description
German WWII Civil Service Faithful Service Medal (Treudienst-Ehrenzeichen) – 25 Years – with Presentation Box
This is an original German World War II Civil Service Faithful Service Medal (Treudienst-Ehrenzeichen), awarded for 25 years of honorable and faithful service within the German civil administration. Instituted on 30 January 1938, this decoration recognized long and continuous service by civil servants who were not members of the armed forces, including employees of state and municipal administrations.
The 25-year award represents the second highest grade of the Treudienst-Ehrenzeichen, surpassed only by the 40-year version. The medal is struck in metal with a silvered finish and displays the correct design elements associated with this class. The obverse features the national emblem within a wreath, while the reverse bears the inscription signifying faithful service. The medal shows light, even age toning consistent with period manufacture and careful preservation.
The award is complete with its original presentation box, which significantly enhances its desirability. The box is period correct, featuring a fitted interior designed to securely hold the medal. Both the exterior and interior remain in good condition, with only minor wear commensurate with age, making it suitable for display or archival storage.
Civil Service Faithful Service Medals were typically awarded during formal ceremonies and reflect the importance placed on loyalty and long-term service within the state apparatus during the Third Reich period. As such, they occupy a distinct place within German award history, separate from combat and military decorations.
This complete 25-year Treudienst-Ehrenzeichen with presentation box is a solid example for collectors of German civil awards, long-service decorations, or historically focused World War II memorabilia.
