Description
Original East German (DDR) Type 2 AKM bayonet, manufactured for military service with AKM-pattern rifles. These bayonets are known for their excellent machining quality, distinctive East German features, and robust military construction. The Type 2 pattern includes a steel blade with the later-profile design, paired with a polymer grip and matching scabbard.
This example is numbers matching, with matching serial numbers on the bayonet and scabbard — a highly desirable attribute for collectors of Cold War–era Warsaw Pact equipment. East German bayonets are especially sought after due to their comparatively limited production and high manufacturing standards.
