Description
Scarce early German Hitler Youth / Deutsches Jungvolk (DJ) member’s belt buckle (Koppelschloß), constructed of die-struck aluminum and marked A&S RZM M4/17 for Assmann & Söhne, Lüdenscheid, one of the most prolific and respected buckle manufacturers of the Third Reich.
The face of the buckle displays the HJ diamond with swastika, centered within a circular oak leaf wreath. Unlike the later, larger Hitler Youth buckles with the “Blut und Ehre!” motto, this early DJ pattern was worn by younger members of the Hitler Youth organization, specifically the Deutsches Jungvolk (ages 10–14).
The reverse is clearly RZM-marked with manufacturer code M4/17, confirming authentic Assmann production. The aluminum construction places this buckle in the pre-war to very early-war period, when lightweight metals were favored before the shift to steel.
