More details

More info

A Schmidt Rubin K1889 prototype rifle. The first ones (number 1-900) were used for experiments and training. Almost all of them were renumbered later on by adding leading digits to the serial number. This rifle is one of the very few that were not renumbered. Our records show that only 113 were not renumbered. Many of them are assumed to have been destroyed during some of the military trials. This rifle is all matching and complete. Even the barrel bands are matching. This rifle is not able to shoot modern 7.5X55 Swiss ammo only 7.5X53.5 GP90 This would be a outstanding addition to your European collection.

Metal Condition: The receiver had great bluing as the the trigger. There is some slight thinning of the bluing. There is no rust or other surface blemishes. The barrel is not blued, and is fully white metal. Again there is no rust on the rifle a all.

Stock/Grips Condition: The stock has a nice finish with no cracks, or chips. There are normal handling and rack marks for a rifle of this vintage.

Bore: The barrel looks great with very little wear and great rifling with a shiny bore.

Action: The action cycles smoothly with no binding. The plastic on the charging handle has some chips that do not effect it’s use. This is a very common trait for these rifles.

Included Accessories: Muzzle cap
